The object of this test is to measure validity as well as the ‘all round’ knowledge that is necessary for proficiency in academic studies.

Högskoleprovet is a selection test. The object of the test is to rank the students in order of precedence and academic potential. The test contains 122 tasks, divided into the following five segments; ‘ORD’ (word comprehension), ’NOG’(measures the ability of logic thinking and mathematical problem solving), ’LÄS’ (reading comprehension in Swedish), ’DTK’(measures the ability to interpret charts, diagrams and read maps) and finally ’ELF’(reading comprehension in English). All tasks are of multiple choice type. Högskoleprovet is to be completed, all segments included, in four hours and ten minutes, or less.
